BEST DEEP CLEANING

It is definitely crazy times right now and we know that cleaning supplies are wiped out of store shelves. But there are still several things you can do in your home to deep clean.

We are getting a jump start on Spring Cleaning with our 5 favorite deep cleaning systems that we wanted to share with you. What are some of your favorite cleaning tips?

TIP #1 – DISHSOAP SPRAY

This is my favorite deep cleaning tip that I learned from my Grandma who cleaned houses for a living. Using Dawn Dishsoap in a spray bottle. Dawn is one of the safest soaps used to clean oil off of animals so it is safe to use around kids and pets. I dilute 1 tablespoon of Dishsoap in a spray bottle with 16 ounces of water. We always keep this on hand. The soap kills germs and cuts through grime all over my house. We use it in the kitchen, bathrooms, window sills, handles and more. Plus there seems to still be plenty of dishsoap in stock.

TIP #2 – CLEAN THE FLOORS

We track in so much dirt, germs and yuck on the bottom of our shoes and we don’t even realize it. Part of keeping your home clean and germ free is keeping your floors clean. We use the Method Disenfectant All Floor cleaner and love it! You don’t need to rinse or get your floors soaking wet. You squirt it on the floor, wipe over it to spread it and then leave it. It drys quickly killing all the germs along with it. Its also eco, kid, and pet friendly which is huge!

TIP #3 – DISENFECT THE HOUSE

Ok I will admit it, I am obesessed with Meyers cleaning products. They smell amazing, are eco-kid-pet friendly, don’t cost more then the other stuff AND they clean & kill germs like a boss! There is never a filmy residue with any of their products that you can get using other products. We have an immune deficient kid so keeping our house clean is always a must for me. We order all our Meyers cleaning products from Grove.co and we will continue to use these products everywhere in our house and encourage you to do the same!

TIP #4 – CHANGE THE SHEETS

Many people don’t realize how many germs actually live in our beds. We drool, rum our face all over, shed skin and sweat in our beds so it is no wonder people will clean their houses but still get sick because they didn’t change the sheets. We recommend washing all the bedding on your & your kids beds at least 1 time a week. ALSO – don’t forget your throw pillows, couch pillows, and throw blankets as they get just as germy as the bedding. Keeping clean sheets is just another way to keep the germs out of your house.

TIP #5 – FURNACE FILTERS

Just like with your bed sheets, the furnace filters catch all from your house. The germs, the dust and dust mites, dead skin cells and more. Changing the furnace filter at least 1 time a month is how we keep the dust down and keep the germs away. Furnace filters aren’t very expensive, but we were told by our HVAC pro that the best filters for us are the ‘Filtrete Allergen Defense’ filters which run about $20. Totally worth it and highy recommend it!
